Harkon Lukas, one of the Darklords of the Demiplane of Dread was born in Cormyr. Ravenloft was linked to the Forgotten Realms by way of the Ethereal Plane, and several crossovers between the two settings have officially been noted. It was a Gothic horror setting that took place in an extradimensional space known as the Demiplane of Dread. Simplified list, aka spells not described in the first section: Į: Adding a list of "Evil" spell alterations, which assume Powers Checks are in effect, for balance: Ravenloft was a campaign setting released by TSR, Inc. In keeping in theme with 5e's design philosophy, none of the changes are super hardcore. Other things that detect good or evil are changed to better fit 5e rules. This is pretty specific to Strahd and may not fit your game, depending on the Darklord. Also, some things having to do with nature, I treat as under the Darklord's control. I have added additional cosmetic changes, some of which are taken from other posts (full disclosure). In new Ravenloft, theres no more Dark Power Checks, and no real consequences to taking all the evil superpowers you like. effect on the person hearing (and believing it), no powers check is made. And three new gothic lineages have just been unveiled in the first Unearthed Arcana of 2021, titled Gothic Lineages. You must use every power availab le to the vampire to keep him (and the game). Check ’em out If it’s D&D and it’s Gothic it must be Ravenloft. I used the alterations in the CoS book as the backbone and added elements from the 3e Ravenloft Player's Handbook Altered Magic section. A new unearthed arcana has just been unveiled revealing three new gothic lineagesDhampir, Hexblood, and Reborn. Here are my spell alterations, that I have edited to be used for any Ravenloft campaign.

In all other ways, the process of conjuring an elemental in Ravenloft is similar to that employed outside of the dark domain. Since my last post was well received, I've decided to share another resource I created for my CoS campaign, that also attempts to combine new with old. Such deliberate uses of the Dark Powers of Ravenloft require a Ravenloft Powers check by the summoner, with the level of the check (1-5) being determined based on the purpose for which the summoned creature is used.
